Fall is here and the band is through playing gigs for the rest of the year. I'm going to concentrate on writing in the hope of getting another CD together. I still plan on spending Wednesdays at the open mikes at Iota, usually with a piano, and I'm always glad to sit in with other performers.
Our show at Bangkok Blues last Saturday (September 20) was a lot of fun. There is some video up on my Youtube page - here's one, Steve Winwood's Can't Find My Way Home:

Thanks to all who showed up at the Music Matters showcase last night in Rockville!

NEWS - MARCH 2, 2008
I'm looking for a guitar player for my new solo group The Glenn Fink Band, which includes bass, drums, percussion, and keys. I'm playing mainly piano and organ in this one. Let me know if you want to try it out, but be warned that we're rehearsing in Leesburg!
NEWS - JANUARY 23, 2008
Here's a 40 minute podcast interview that I did with the Unfiltered News Network. It was recorded in late August, but due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, it only just became available. Includes a live acoustic solo performance of "96 Years Old".
In other news - The Black Finks are ending! I am once again attempting to start an electric band, and I'm off to a flying start. I expect to be booking gigs with the new group by Memorial Day. The focus will be my original songs and a few choice covers. Stay tuned!
Incidentally - The Black Finks were contacted over the weekend by Steve Clark of Died Pretty, who said he really enjoyed our performance of their song, "Free Dirt". Here's the clip he saw on YouTube.
NEWS - DECEMBER 18, 2007
Happy holidays everyone. Here's a video clip of The Black Finks performing with Karen Scuderi last Friday at The Potter's House in Washington, D.C.
"Glenn Fink - His HOT STOVES BURN album is great. Distinctive voice and sophisticated keyboard work." --Tom Dews
Tom Dews is a fine rural folk/blues sounding acoustic player well worth hearing. I want to thank him for the acknowledgment!

Well, turns out the electric band is not happening
at this time - except for the one gig coming up on the 23rd
at The
Red & The Black.
We're playing with a great indie band from Chicago, Scale
Model. Don't miss it! The
Black Finks are still gigging, so I'll still be out there.

internet radio show that played one of my songs recently.
Thanks go to Billy

Other news - I am starting an electric band
and I am currently seeking a guitarist who can do rhythm,
lead, slide, and backing
vocals. Please contact me if
you are interested. We'll be playing my entire CD plus some
new songs and just a few very obscure covers.
