NEWS - September 25, 2008

Fall is here and the band is through playing gigs for the rest of the year. I'm going to concentrate on writing in the hope of getting another CD together. I still plan on spending Wednesdays at the open mikes at Iota, usually with a piano, and I'm always glad to sit in with other performers.

Our show at Bangkok Blues last Saturday (September 20) was a lot of fun. There is some video up on my Youtube page - here's one, Steve Winwood's Can't Find My Way Home:

NEWS - August 10, 2008

Are you a musician near Arlington, Virginia? Come to Iota's open mike night on Wednesday August 13, and you'll have the option of having me back you on keyboards during your slot! Signup is at 7 PM sharp!

NEWS - July 12, 2008

We have a guitarist now - Mr. Peter Cattaneo joined us just in time for our first gig, which took place last Thursday.

Most of The Glenn Fink Band show from last Thursday can be heard here.

NEWS - MAY 17, 2008

Moxie Brown video from its classic 2004 lineup has been placed on YouTube, and I expect to put up more soon. To hear audio from this period of the band, check out my Moxie Brown page.

NEWS - MAY 4, 2008

Thanks to all who showed up at the Music Matters showcase last night in Rockville!

The new Glenn Fink Band is still looking for a permanent guitarist (we have a very capable fill-in for July 10). If you want to give it a shot then please contact me.

NEWS - MARCH 2, 2008

I'm looking for a guitar player for my new solo group The Glenn Fink Band, which includes bass, drums, percussion, and keys. I'm playing mainly piano and organ in this one. Let me know if you want to try it out, but be warned that we're rehearsing in Leesburg!

NEWS - JANUARY 23, 2008

Here's a 40 minute podcast interview that I did with the Unfiltered News Network. It was recorded in late August, but due to circumstances beyond anyone's control, it only just became available. Includes a live acoustic solo performance of "96 Years Old".

In other news - The Black Finks are ending! I am once again attempting to start an electric band, and I'm off to a flying start. I expect to be booking gigs with the new group by Memorial Day. The focus will be my original songs and a few choice covers. Stay tuned!

Incidentally - The Black Finks were contacted over the weekend by Steve Clark of Died Pretty, who said he really enjoyed our performance of their song, "Free Dirt". Here's the clip he saw on YouTube.

NEWS - DECEMBER 18, 2007

Happy holidays everyone. Here's a video clip of The Black Finks performing with Karen Scuderi last Friday at The Potter's House in Washington, D.C.

NEWS - NOVEMBER 2, 2007

Some more airplay! This time, 96 Years Old was used as a segueway into The Jeff Farias Show on Nova M Radio.

Here's the clip!

NEWS - OCTOBER 23, 2007

"Glenn Fink - His HOT STOVES BURN album is great. Distinctive voice and sophisticated keyboard work."
    --Tom Dews

Tom Dews is a fine rural folk/blues sounding acoustic player well worth hearing. I want to thank him for the acknowledgment!

NEWS - OCTOBER 3, 2007

Well, turns out the electric band is not happening at this time - except for the one gig coming up on the 23rd at The Red & The Black. We're playing with a great indie band from Chicago, Scale Model. Don't miss it! The Black Finks are still gigging, so I'll still be out there.

NEWS - SEPTEMBER 23, 2007

We're looking for a drummer to perform these songs in the new electric band. Let me know if you're interested in auditioning. Email me or phone 703-531-1890.

NEWS - AUGUST 12, 2007

Hope you all are having a fine summer and survived those 12 days of 90+ weather in the DC area! First let me link you to an internet radio show that played one of my songs recently. Thanks go to Billy Shears of the Head-On Radio Network for the airplay Saturday, August 4, on his weeklyshow, Night Sounds. Here's the clip.

Other news - I am starting an electric band and I am currently seeking a guitarist who can do rhythm, lead, slide, and backing vocals. Please contact me if you are interested. We'll be playing my entire CD plus some new songs and just a few very obscure covers.
